Dr. Charles Hollander graduated with honors in 1980 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and is certified by the New York State Optometric Association to provide low vision services.
Dr. Hollander is licensed in the therapeutic treatment of glaucoma and external eye diseases in the State of New York Dr. Hollander held the title for 15 years as an associate and clinical instructor in Department of Ophthalmogy at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical School.
He was a adjunct professor at Columbia University Teachers College where he has instructed teachers who were receiving their masters degree in teaching children who are visually impaired.
He has lectured extensively in the area of low vision rehabilitation and co authored a chapter in the text book “The Essentials of Low Vision Care”. Dr. Hollander currently is the optometric consultant at the New York Institute for Special Education. hollander@sightimprovementcenter.com
